Astatine is the rarest naturally-occurring element. There is less than one ounce on earth, about 25 grams, which is less than a teaspoon. It is radioactive, and occurs naturally from the decay of uranium-235 and uranium-238. It can also be produced by bombarding bismuth with alpha particles.
